heel lift

Having pain in your Achilles tendon can be debilitating and very limiting.  I strongly advise you to see your PT for a full bio-mechanical assessment and treatment.  But what can you do now to help?  Just saw a patient with a really sore Achilles’ tendon but she loves to hike and wanted to keep active. We put a 12 mm heel lift in her shoe to decrease the load on her Achilles while she walked to make it less painful. Now this isn’t the long term solution but it’s a handy trick to remember if you find yourself with a sore Achilles but you need to keep moving!
